Make Money on your Blogs with Advertising Networks

Other than promoting affiliate products, advertising revenue can also bring in a substantial amount of income for bloggers. Advertisers are the people who are willing to pay to have their ads being displayed in popular places. Publishers, in contrast, are the people who are selling advertising spaces to advertisers. Advertising spaces are everywhere. You see them in subway stations, you see them on TV, you see them on the streets, on the walls of buildings...etc. This is exactly the same the Internet. you see advertisements on popular websites where thousands of visitors drop by every day, or even every minute, or second. People are willing to pay to have their ads displayed on popular websites in order to maximize their business exposure.

Start building your advertising revenue

The idea is simple. If you have a good amount of traffic to your website, you can sell the traffic to advertisers. The more traffic you have, the more the amount of money people are willing to pay. Placing advertisements on your website is not effective when you are just starting out. In fact, you will probably drive away some readers on your website because some people find advertisements annoying.

Placing too many advertisements can be very annoying to readers even when you have great content on your website. Advertisements take time to load. Advertisements grab people's attention when they are trying to concentrate on reading. Some advertising spots are more effective than the others, and each website is different. each website is unique. So you will have to find out which advertising spots are the most effective ones by placing ads in different places and monitor their performances.

You can join advertising networks and start earning advertising revenue. These networks make this process a lot easier but in return, they charge a certain percentage of your advertising revenue. Alternatively you can also place your own ads with affiliated links attached to them, and earn commissions from people purchasing the affiliated products through your ads.

Keep in mind that if you place ads on your website, make sure that you have enough bandwidth for your website. Say if you are only allowed 100MB (just as an example) bandwidth for your website, and the ad image is 0.1MB (let's say you only have 1 ad), the ad will only be allowed to display 1000 times before your website shuts down due to insufficient bandwidth. You won't have to worry about this if you are using advertising networks because the ads are not being stored on your web server.
