Article Submission
Article submission refers to the act of one submitting his own writings to article directories. Article directories get a lot of traffic from search engines due to massive amount of content. Search engines like article directories (just like how they love blogs) because they are great resources to people on the Internet. Very similar to blog and forums commenting, article submission, if done properly, can be an extremely effective way to leverage traffic to your blog and increase the readership of your blog.
Because article directories are such great resources to find information, they are also favored by users online. For people who don't know about the existence of your blog, article directories act as quality channels to increase your blog's online exposure. Not only that, most article directories allow users to republish articles, along with author links, on their websites. This is a very powerful feature. If your articles get republished on other websites, you gain backlinks to your blog in return. The best thing about this is that you don't have to do anything on your own except for making sure that your articles are high in quality and can bring a lot of attention.
What do consider when submitting articles
- Focus on established article directories - again, you want to make sure that your work doesn't disappear into the thin air.
- Write good article titles and article descriptions - When users browse through article directories, article titles and their descriptions play an important role in catching the attention from the users.
- Use real name - This adds a personal touch to your articles. When people read a quality article, they are often interested to find out who wrote the article.
- Write the articles as if you are writing a quality post on your blog (Refer to Chapter 3)
Guest Blogging
Guest blogging is another form of article submission. Instead of submitting articles to article directories, you submit to other blogs. Many bloggers offer guest blogging, inviting other bloggers to write on their blogs. If you plan to be a guest blogger on another blog, make sure that the blog is in related niche. You do not want to write an English article for people who can only read Chinese. You get the idea.
